Radio Frequency Applications

Stanelco utilise Dielectric Heating, which is used for the welding together of plastic sheet materials. It works by exciting the molecules at the point where the weld is to be made, the molecules rotate and twist together creating a bond at the molecular level, and because the weld melts before the surface is heated to melting point it creates a clean and uniform weld, which is actually stronger than the origional material.

Stanelco manufacture welding equipment suitable for: Nuclear Waste Bag Sealing, Plastic Overalls, Stationery Products, Ambulance Stretchers, Medical Fluid Bags, Conveyor Belts, Domestic Blinds and Lampshades, Marine Diving Suits, Sheet welding applications including tarpaulins and marquees, Building damp-proof liners, and other uses.

Stanelco also utilise Induction Heating, which creates extremely precise and controllable heating, and is used in Stanelco's Optical Fibre furnaces. These furnaces provide consistent temperatures in excess of 2000 deg Celsius, the level of heat needed to turn 'preform' material into a standard diameter fibre for cable production - and to do so at speeds of up to 2km per minute.

Stanelco Induction Heating products are also used in a variety of other applications; a good example is a client sealing the cap and base of a plastic medical unit by applying RF Induction to a metal collar within the cap. The seal produced is precise and suitably robust for the medical world. The same operational approach has been applied in assembling plastic domestic kettles using Stanelco products.
