In view of the growing scarcity of petroleum products, the corresponding cost increases and the negative impact of many of these products on the environment, SPHERE are moving towards a new industrial strategy based on sustainable materials derived from renewable, starch-based sources and the production of bioplastics.

SPhere accounts for the great majority of sales of Bioplast material from Biotec, using them to manufacture bags and films, and also selling them on to other parts of the European plastics industry via SPhere's  100 % owned French subsidiary Biotec Distribution.
